Residents of Los Angeles are searching for answers and the people responsible for the destruction as a result of the grief and rage brought on by the wildfires.

Actor Henry Winkler, who plays “The Fonz” in the sitcom Happy Days, was quick to respond to the query and started a viral discussion yesterday (January 8) when he expressed his opinion that an arsonist was responsible for the catastrophe.

“Here in LA, there is an arsonist. May the beating render you unrecognizable! The actor wrote on X, “The pain you have caused!!!” The post went viral, receiving over 1.9 million views at the time of writing.

One group of internet users defended Winkler’s theory in the comment section, while another group dismissed it as the “ramblings of an old man.” The actor might be correct, though, based on fresh video evidence that was released earlier today.

The viral video, which had more than 6.5 million views overall, outperformed Winkler’s tweet and said, “People are lighting fires in otherwise non-burning urban areas of LA.”

The video shows several individuals tossing combustible objects into a huge fire in Santa Monica, California, while onlookers stare in shock as the flames grow larger and threaten to topple a few nearby tall trees.

“Remain safe and report any activity right away. A retweet stated, “We don’t need any more flames out here.”

The videos demonstrated the complexity of the fires occurring throughout Los Angeles, which appear to have multiple causes. For reasons that are unclear, some citizens exploited the chaos to spread more mayhem.

It’s disgusting. Right now, it feels like LA is being attacked. There are fires everywhere. “Be careful!” a user wrote.
