Jason Kelce Says He Preferred Protective Jock Strap to Compression Shorts Because ‘It Cupped My Butt Cheek Nice….

Jason Kelce says he preferred wearing a jock strap over compression shorts because he liked the way the protective cup’s straps made him look.

The former Philadelphia Eagles center, 37, and brother Travis Kelce, 35, chatted about protective genital gear during the Wednesday, Jan. 8 episode of their podcast, New Heights, after a caller asked why players stopped wearing jock straps.

“What happened to the jock strap is they invented compression shorts, and they’re just way more efficient at holding everything in place and better,” Jason said about the tight-fitting garment that’s worn under their football uniforms.

“It eliminates the chafing that could possibly go on,” Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis added, sharing that with a jock strap, you have to powder your genitals and “your thighs every f—ing day.”

However, Jason shared he wasn’t so quick to make the switch. “I still wore the jockstrap. There’s something I liked about the jockstrap,” he said. “I only wore it on game day, though, And I would walk around the locker room making my pre-[game] workout in nothing but my jock strap, and I thought it was funny.”

As Travis began laughing, Jason continued, “So maybe that’s the reason I wore it, but I also thought it, like, cupped my butt cheek nice and it made my butt look better.“

“I didn’t realize you were going for a nice look of your—” Travis began, but his brother cut him off, saying, “I needed help because I don’t have a great ass.”

“Alright, there you go,” said Travis, laughing. “I think, yeah, the compression shorts came in.”

“They’re a little bit better at doing the job,” Jason added.

“Not a lot of guys wear cups anymore,” Travis said, “and the jockstrap was initially to hold the cup.”

“Well, that’s how we always use it, but I do think there the jock strap was also utilized before compression shorts to hold the junk. But once you have compression shorts, you didn’t need that.”
