Kate Middleton has returned to work for the first time since completing chemotherapy treatment
The Princess of Wales met with members of her Early Years Centre team and Kensington Palace staff at Windsor Castle, The Telegraph reported on Tuesday (September 18).
The meeting was about the 42-year-old’s Early Years project, which examines “how early childhood experiences are often the root cause of today’s toughest societal challenges, such as addiction, family breakdown, poor mental health, suicide and homelessness,” according to the Royal Family’s official website.
Kate Middleton has returned to work after completing chemotherapy with a reunion for her Early Years project.
The project focuses on early childhood experiences and their impact on issues such as addiction and homelessness.
The princess hopes to join the royal family for Remembrance Day and host their annual carol concert in December.
Kate was reportedly briefed on the project throughout her illness when she felt well enough to work from home.
On September 9, the princess posted a video announcing that her cancer treatment had concluded.
The highly personal video shows her with her husband, Prince William, and their three children, George, Charlotte and Louis, walking and playing in the Norfolk countryside.
“Now that summer is drawing to a close, I cannot tell you how relieved I am to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she said.
“The last nine months have been incredibly hard on us as a family. Life as we know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate turbulent waters and unfamiliar paths.”
She continued: “The process of battling cancer is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.
“Humility also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you never considered before and with it a new perspective on everything.”
The Princess of Wales attended a meeting about her Early Years project, which focuses on the wellbeing of children to prevent problems such as addiction, homelessness and poor mental health.
Kate said she hoped to “take on some further public engagements in the coming months when I am able” while prioritising her health and recovery.
The princess revealed in March that she was undergoing cancer treatment two months after being hospitalized for an unspecified type of abdominal surgery.
Although chemotherapy treatment has now been completed, Kensington Palace has stated that it is still too early to confirm whether Kate is cancer-free.
Kate announced that she had completed her chemotherapy treatment in a video with her family.
This year, she has been seen in an official capacity twice: on June 15 at Trooping the Colour and in July at Wimbledon, where she attended with her daughter, Princess Charlotte, and sister Pippa Middleton.
According to The Sunday Times, Kate is “potentially” expected to join the rest of the royal family at the Cenotaph for the Remembrance Day service on November 10.
This tradition has been observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of World War I to honor members of the armed forces who died in the line of duty.
The princess is expected to give her annual carol concert at Westminster Abbey next month.
On social media, people said the princess’s activities could not be defined as “work”.
