Breaking News: Upon Hearing About the Wildfires in Los Angeles, Meghan Markle Delayed the Netflix Premiere of With Love, Meghan. Immediately, She and Her Colleagues Were Present at the Refugee Gathering Place to Offer Support

Meghan Markle has made the compassionate decision to postpone the premiere of her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, in response to the devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles, her hometown. The series, which was originally set to launch on January 15, will now air on March 4, 2025, to allow Meghan and her team to focus on supporting those affected by the disaster.

In a statement shared on Sunday, January 12, Meghan expressed her gratitude for Netflix’s understanding and full support of the delay, saying, “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, holds a deep connection to California, both as a place of residence in Montecito with her husband, Prince Harry, and their children, as well as the place of her birth and upbringing in Los Angeles. With Love, Meghan is a tribute to the beauty of Southern California, and includes subtle nods to the state that has shaped her life.

In light of the wildfires, Meghan and Harry have extended a helping hand to those in need. The couple welcomed evacuees into their Montecito home and through their Archewell Foundation, they have been actively involved in the relief efforts. On January 10, they visited the World Central Kitchen in Pasadena, where they helped distribute food and supplies to victims of the Eaton Fire, which has wreaked havoc across Southern California.

During the visit, Meghan and Harry quietly assisted in wildfire relief by serving meals, providing essential supplies, and interacting with families who were affected by the devastating blaze. They were joined by California’s First Partner, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, to thank first responders and volunteers who have been working tirelessly to contain the fires and support the community.

Later, they met with World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés to express their admiration for the relief teams and pledged continued support for recovery and rebuilding efforts through their Archewell Foundation. The couple has also made financial contributions to aid in these critical efforts, with plans for future visits to assist in long-term recovery.

“California has been hit hard by these wildfires, devastating neighborhoods and leaving families without homes,” said Meghan and Harry in a joint statement released on January 9. “This is a state of emergency, and we want to do everything we can to support those in need.”

In addition to providing immediate assistance, the couple emphasized the importance of mental health recovery for those affected by the fires, stating that they are working with local organizations to address both the short-term and long-term needs of survivors.

As part of her upcoming series, Meghan showcases her passion for cooking, gardening, and entertaining. In With Love, Meghan, she is seen sharing personal tips on creating beauty in everyday life, whether it’s preparing a meal, tending to a beehive, or arranging flowers. The show aims to inspire viewers with its blend of lifestyle programming and candid conversations with friends, including Prince Harry.

Despite the postponement of the show, the Duchess has made it clear that her priority lies in the well-being of her community. “This is a time when we all need to come together and support each other,” Meghan remarked. “I hope that through my work with Archewell, we can help those affected by these devastating wildfires in every way possible.”

The wildfires continue to threaten Southern California, with tens of thousands of residents affected. If you wish to help, the couple has encouraged donations to various relief organizations, including The American Red Cross, to support those in need of clothing, food, and other essentials.

As the devastation unfolds, Meghan Markle’s response serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of community and the need to act swiftly in times of crisis. Through her actions, both at home and through her work with Netflix, she has shown that her compassion for others goes beyond just her words.
